In July 2007, we learned that Kerry Ward is searching for information about his father Burnnell Day Ward who graduated from Molalla in 1937.   His grandfather's name was James (or Jones or Jonah) Day Ward.  Kerry thinks his grandfather attended Molalla High School, perhaps from 1914 to 1919.  Do any records for the oldest high school building exist?

In Molalla recently, Kerry checked out the Chamber of Commerce, the Molalla Historical Society, and the funeral home.  He went to the library and tried unsuccessfully to find an old annual.  He may put an article or advertisement in  the Molalla Pioneer requesting help from anyone who is still alive who may have known his dad or granddad.  If any of you (or relatives) could  help with any information, he would be grateful.  Burnnell Day Ward is buried in Havre, Montana, where Kerry currently lives.

You can contact Kerry Ward at (406) 265-2828 or send him e-mail at kerryward-email@molalla-alumni.org

In March 2007, Ana Llordes Alonso writes from Oiartzun (Spain):  I was an exchange student from Spain in year 1991-1992. I have great memories from my year in Molalla. I joined swimming team. Now I am married and have a 22months old baby boy. (You can write her at anaalanzo-email@molalla-alumni.org.)

Dear Molalla alums,

I'm Earl Switzer, '45. Just want to let you know that I will be attending the Munich American High School reunion in DC the same time as the Molalla alumni reunion.

My second book, Angel Blessings, was published in Sep. 2006. It has 273 pages with 54 black and white pictures from our travels in Germany, Mexico City, Quebec, Hawaii, and on a cruise from Portland to Ft. Lauderdale, and Israel. Several times we encountered people who helped us under strange circumstances and then disappeared. Angel Blessings is available from www.Amazon.com or www.barnesandnoble.com. I will sell it for $15 postpaid.

I sold my first book, Memories of the Great Depression & Brief History of Molalla at the last two alumni reunions. I won't be coming to the 2007 reunion, but the book is still available by telephoning me at 503 206 7332, or by email: ecswitzer@aol.com Cost is $12 postpaid.

Have a good reunion.

Earl Switzer
