Paul A. Miettunen,  age 90 born 06/16/1920, died 09/06/2010

A memorial service for Paul A. Miettunen of Milwaukie will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, in Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 19200 Willamette Drive, West Linn.

Mr. Miettunen died Sept. 6, 2010, at OHSU. He was 90. He was born and raised in Meadowbrook, graduated from Molalla High School in 1938, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He graduated from art school at the Portland Art Museum and made his living in commercial design and engraving. In later years, he was self-employed. He lived in West Linn from 1953 to 2006.

Mr. Miettunen enjoyed photography, wood carving, and painting. He attended Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. His wife of 62 years, Alene G. (Ringo) Miettunen, died in 2008.

He is survived by his daughters, Marna Porath of Amity and Loree Bryan of Hood River; and granddaughters, Eryn and Emily Bryan of Hood River.

Paul A. Miettunen

Paul A. Miettunen, 90, died of congestive heart failure at Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland on Sept. 6, 2010.

He was born in Meadowbrook, Ore. to August William and Janiika (Martilla) Miettunen. On June 16, 1946 he married Alene G. Ringo in Mulino.

Services will be held at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in West Linn. River View Cemetery Funeral Home in Portland is handling the arrangements.
